If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to end your relationship, Valentine’s Day is never the best time, but this year, it could be thanks to Pizza Hut’s new “Goodbye Pies.”
Pizza Hut launched the new pizza campaign on Feb. 6, sharing that it would let customers order free Pizza Hut delivery to the address of an ex-lover.
From now until Valentine’s Day, customers are able to order a Hot Honey pizza for delivery to their long-gone or soon-to-be ex’s home at GoodbyePies.com.
“Breakups are awkward. We can help. Send a free Hot Honey Goodbye Pie from now through Valentine’s Day, and the delivery driver will deliver the bad news in the best way,” the site says.
The pizza shop is also letting ex-lovers personalize the pies as they order, giving the option to write a customized message to their ex on the delivery box.
While it is the day of love, Pizza Hut cited a YouGov poll that found 45% of people believe it’s best to end doomed relationships before Feb. 14.
Pizza Hut launched its new breakup-themed pies mainly to promote its new Hot Honey pizza and Hot Honey wings.
“The rising popularity of the sweet-heat flavor profile has led to Hot Honey becoming the most requested test item by our team members, and we are thrilled to have it as the newest addition to our menu,” Lindsay Morgan, Chief Marketing Officer at Pizza Hut, said in a statement.
Those in Miami, New York, and Chicago will be able to order the pies from now until Feb. 14.
Customers not in those three cities can access the website and request a breakup message and a free gift card for one of the pies to be set to an ex, while supplies last.
