On Wednesday, Russian media reported that 15-year-old figure skater Kamila Valvieva had tested positive for a banned drug following the postponement of the medal ceremony for her and her teammates.

Valieva was a part of the Russian Olympic Committee ensemble, which won gold at the figure skating team event on Monday.

The drug, Trimetazidine, was identified by the Russian newspapers RBC and Kommersant, Reuters reported. The ROC has declined to comment on the claims of Valieva testing positive for a banned substance.

Trimetazidine is a metabolic modulator, according to the World Anti-Doping Agency. It is also banned both in and out of competition.

So far, the International Olympic Committee has not confirmed nor denied the claims of Valieva returning a positive test. Stating only that they postponed the ceremony due to a need for "legal consultation."

"You can bet your bottom dollar we are doing everything that this situation can be resolved as soon as possible. I cannot give you any more details, but we will do our utmost," IOC spokesperson Mark Adams said.

Russia has already been dealt sanctions for previous doping violations. Russian athletes are not allowed to compete under their flag or national anthem, only competing at the Beijing Games as representatives of the ROC.
