After going missing in the northern California wilderness almost a week ago, a 52-year-old woman was rescued after she survived on yogurt and snow.

The woman, Sheena Gullet, was stuck in her snowbound truck, and while she waited for rescue crews to get to her, she rationed her six-pack of yogurt and ate snow to get water, the Lassen County Sheriff's Office said.

Gullet had been traveling with her friend when she got lost in the northeastern part of the state in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, on April 14, Gullett was with her friend Justin Lonich, 48, when they got stranded and had to spend a night in their truck.

When they awoke the following day, they discovered their vehicle's battery had died. Attempting to find help, the pair started walking, but after her boots fell apart, she became separated from Lonich and turned back.

Continuing to find help, Lonich moved on, finally reaching a highway and tracking down help three days later on April 17.

After unsuccessfully searching for Gullet for several days, they were able to find her last Wednesday with the help of Lonich.

Gullett shared that she had seen a helicopter looking for her, but rescuers couldn't spot her location in the thick woods.
