Three people have been hospitalized in San Jose after a bad smell was reported on an Alaska Airlines flight.

According to San Jose fire officials, at around 10:42 a.m., the flight crew revealed that multiple passengers were feeling sick due to an odor on the plane, KNTV reported.

The plane landed in San Jose and was checked by first responders and maintenance personnel, but the smell or source of the foul odor was not detected, the station said. It is currently unknown what caused the smell.

Officials believe it is possible that the air inside the plane cleared when passengers exited the aircraft.

KCBS Radio has reached out to the San Jose Fire Department, but has not yet heard back.
