The Orlando Business Journal is reporting that Disney is considering moving some of their divisions out of California to Lake Nona in Orlando.
This comes as Disney's southern California park remain shuttered due to public health guidelines issued by the state. Disneyland & Disney's California Adventure expect to be closed through at least March of 2021.
A Disney spokesperson told the Orlando Business Journal that they "always exploring opportunities for additional locations within the vicinity of our theme park, but there is nothing concrete.” Lake Nona Development company Tavistock Development Co & the Orlando Economic Partnership both chose to not comment on the report at this time.
Last fall the California Attractions and Parks Association was outspoken in their disdain for Gov. Gavin Newsom's plan to keep theme parks around the state closed.
