The Tracy Police Department arrested Jordan Dajani, a 30-year-old teacher at West High School in the city, last week on charges that he engaged in anal and oral sex with victims who were under 18, officials said.

Police alleged that Dajani had "an inappropriate and illegal relationship" with two different students – one at West High School, where police said he has taught since 2017, and another at Modesto's Grace Davis High School, where police said he taught from 2015 until moving to West.

Dajani was arrested on April 28, three days after police said they were "alerted to an inappropriate relationship between a student and a teacher at West High School." The Tracy Police Department said the Tracy Unified School District "immediately" placed Dajani on administrative leave after West High School's resource officer started investigating Dajani alongside detectives.

Tracy Unified School District Associate Superintendent of Human Resources Tammy Jalique told KCBS Radio in a statement on Thursday night that the district "is aware of the allegations, takes them very seriously" and is working with Tracy police.

Jalique said Tracy Unified "has additional services in place to support students or staff in relation to this issue."

"As this is a confidential personnel matter, we are unable to comment further," Jalique said.

Superintendent Brian Stephens told Sacramento's KXTV on Wednesday night that Dajani was placed on leave after officials learned of the allegations and said he couldn't comment further.

Modesto City Schools, the district in which Grace Davis High School is located, didn't respond to KCBS Radio’s emailed request for comment prior to publication. The district's associate superintendent of human resources, Mike Henderson, told the Sacramento station that Dajani taught there as a substitute during the 2016-17 school year.

Dajani cleared the school's background checks, according to Henderson, and "he was seeking qualifications to be eligible to apply for teaching positions but did not complete requirements while pursuing full time employment with Modesto City Schools." Henderson said the district would cooperate with the police investigation.

Dajani was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail following his arrest, police said. He was not listed in jail records as of publication on Thursday afternoon.

Tracy and Modesto police are still investigating.
