
The demand for dogs during the pandemic has led to a significant increase in pets being stolen.
The latest puppy theft happened in downtown Los Angeles.
Police are asking for the public's help to track down the stolen dog and the suspected dog-napper.
Officer William Cooper from the Los Angeles Police Department told KNX 1070 News that a woman broke into someone's home on the 800 block of South Grand Ave. and took a four-month-old Shetland Sheepdog named "Kali."
The suspect is described as a female Black, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 130 to 140 pounds, 30 to 35 years old, with pink eyebrows. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, a purple Lakers shirt, and red pants.
Authorities tell us her owner is desperate to have the pup safely back home.
