A 275-acre vegetation fire that prompted evacuations earlier in the day in Yuba County was 10% contained as of Wednesday night.

The Glen Fire, which officials said started overnight Wednesday, is burning northwest of Dobbins at Willow Glen Road and Meadow Lane.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Office initially issued evacuation orders for Brownsville and Challenge. Both areas were safe to repopulate as of 7:30 p.m. PT, but evacuation orders remained in place near Frenchtown.

Crews from elsewhere in Northern California are assisting on the Glen Fire. CAL FIRE Santa Clara Unit, for instance, directed resources to the fire.

No injuries nor any damaged structures have been reported. The fire's cause is still under investigation.
