A dire warning about AI from a now-former Anthropic researcher seems to be getting the attention of the industry and of lawmakers.
Hurricane Marie, far out in the Pacific Ocean, sent such intense waves into Southern California this week that oceanfront homes were flooded, with some damaged to the point of being too dangerous to live in.
In the past, a heatwave like the one the Bay Area is experiencing now may have meant calls from the state to conserve energy. In recent years, though, officials have made changes that help keep the lights on.
