Heat spike hits Bay Area, many East Bay cities reach over 100 degrees

A widespread Heat Advisory is in effect across the Bay Area today, as temperatures spike 10 to 20 degrees above normal for this time of year. A month after a 31-year-old Oakland woman was hit in a crosswalk by two young boys on a joyride, her family reports miraculous progress. The Oakland Spiders have taken home the national championship.
