PITTSBRUGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Saturday, marked 11 years since three Pittsburgh Police officers were shot and killed in the line of duty.
Officers Eric Kelly, Stephen Mayhle, and Paul Sciullo payed the ultimate sacrifice on this date in 2009 when they responded to a call about a domestic disturbance in the Stanton Heights neighborhood.
Fellow officers and Pittsburgh Mayor, Bill Peduto, paid their respects at a memorial this morning.
The incident is the third-deadliest attack on law enforcement in the United States since the September 11, terror attacks.
