PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The number of Coronavirus cases in Pennsylvania increased 165 to bring the state-wide total to 644.
In addition, the state is has announced a new death in Montgomery County., bringing the state's total to three.
Positive cases of COVID-19 has now been confirmed in 34 PA counties.
All patients are either at home in isolation or are hospitalized.
"Our notable increase in cases over the last few days indicate we need everyone to take COVID-19 seriously," Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said. "Pennsylvanians have a very important job right now: stay calm, stay home and stay safe. We have seen case counts continue to increase and the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to stay home."
6,595 patients have tested negative for the virus.
The total number of pending tests is not available at this time.
Locally there are 48 cases in Allegheny County, three in Beaver, five in Butler, seven in Washington, six in Westmoreland, one in Fayette, and one in Cambria, for a total of 71 in Southwestern PA.
There is also a confirmed case in Mercer County and three in Erie County.
