HARRISBURG, PA (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The Pennsylvania Department of Health is confirming an additional 1,323 cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
The number of deaths due to coronavirus increased has also increased by 200.
The large number of deaths did not happen over one day, but rather over the past several weeks.
Those deaths bring the state's total to 3,616.
2,458 of the state's total deaths have occurred in nursing or personal care homes, with 1,061 out of nursing homes.
The 1, 323 new coronavirus cases is 253 more than reported on Thursday.
The statewide total is now at 54,238
10,919 of the state's total cases are in nursing and personal care homes patients, with 1,542 in employees for a total of 12,461 at 522 facilities across 44 counties.
There are confirmed cases in every county in Pennsylvania.
About 3,553 cases are in health care workers.
216,321 people have tested negative for COVID-19.
The Age Breakdown:
- Nearly 1% are aged 0-4;
- Nearly 1% are aged 5-12;
- 1% are aged 13-18;
- Nearly 6% are aged 19-24;
- 37% are aged 25-49;
- 26% are aged 50-64; and
- Nearly 28% are aged 65 or older.
