PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department is has announced another 45 new cases of COVID-19.
The number of cases has jumped up again after 19 cases were reported on Tuesday.
On Monday, the department reported 45 cases, the most in the county in the past two months.
Since Monday, 109 new cases have been reported.
The total number of cases in Allegheny County is now at 2,284.
Five additional deaths are being reported as a result of coronavirus with the total number of deaths confirmed or probable at 184.
The age range of those who have died is from 23-103 with 84 being the median age.
During a rare Monday news conference, Health Department Director, Dr. Debra Bogen said the rise in numbers was "concerning."
Two additional hospitalizations are being reported to bring the total past and present to 372.
13 percent of the cases in the county are in healthcare workers.
The PA Department of health reports 47,186 negative tests in Allegheny County.
