Actor Luke Perry Dead After Suffering Massive Stroke Last Week

(Newsradio 1020 KDKA/AP) - Actor Luke Perry has died after he suffered a massive stroke last Wednesday.

According to his publicist Arnold Robinson , the “Beverly Hills 90210” actor died Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California. He was 52.

Robinson says Perry's family and friends were with him when he died. Among them were his children, siblings, fiancée and former wife.

The actor had been hospitalized since last week. Robinson said no further details would be released at this time.

The publicist added that Perry's family appreciates the support and prayers that were offered since Perry was hospitalized on Wednesday.

Perry was best known for his role as Dylan McKay on “90210”. The show ran from 1990 till 2000.

Perry was currently playing Fred Andrews on the hit show “Riverdale”.

Perry is survived by two children he had with Rachel Sharp with whom he was married from 1993 until they divorced in 2003.
