Allegheny Co. Adds 80 COVID Cases, Over 300 Now Dead

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County is reporting 80 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, 20 less than on Thursday.

The Allegheny County Health Department says that the new cases come from 1,397 test results taken between August 11 and August 20 for a positivity rate of 5.7 percent.

The cases range in age from 1 to 98 years-old with the median age being 46.

Of the new cases, 74 are confirmed and six are probable.

In addition, the county is reporting six additional deaths including one in their 50s.

The other ages of those that died are one in their 60s, one in their 70s, two in their 80s and one in their 90s.

The dates of those deaths range from August 13-19 with four related to long-term care facilities.

Since the first case was reported on March 14, there have been 9,756 cases of coronabirus, 915 hospitalizations and 304 deaths.
