HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Allegheny County is confirming five new COVID-19 on Monday.
The total number of cases in Allegheny County have reached 2,008, after passing the 2,000 mark on Sunday.
Of the 2,008 cases, 279 or 14 percent are in health care workers.
Zero deaths are reported for the third straight day. The number of dead remains at 168 in the county.
156 of those deaths are confirmed and 12 are probably.
All deaths are in people ranging in age from 42-103 with 84 being the median age of those who have died.
The PA Department of Health reports that 34,428 people have tested negative for coronavirus.
There is one additional hospitalization to bringing that number to 351, past or present.

While the county has not released numbers regarding a recovery rate, the state of Pennsylvania is reporting that 70% of cases have recovered.
Individuals who have recovered is determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states. If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.
