PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – After a day of relatively low COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County, new cases have skyrocketed on Tuesday, setting a new daily record.

The Allegheny County Health Department is reporting 331 new cases, compared to the 71 reported on Monday.


There are now 5,364 confirmed or probable cases in the county since the first case was reported on March 14.

The new cases come from 4,536 test results and range in age from 5 months older to 99-years-old with the median age being 30.

In addition, seven new hospitalizations are being reported, for a total of 477 past or present.

One additional death is being reported for a total of 199 confirmed or probable since the start of the pandemic.

The county reminds everyone to continue to wear a mask in public, frequently wash their hands and maintain social distancing.

The county has established a dashboard where you can see how many people have been infected in your community.
