HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Pennsylvania State House has passed legislation that would exempt residents from paying state and local income tax on the stimulus money they received under the federal CARES Act.

Those $1,200 are already exempt from federal income tax.

That bill was introduced by Representative Brandon Markosek.

A similar bill was introduced in the Senate by Jim Brewster.
