PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police are donating blood in honor of fallen Officer Calvin Hall.
It’s part of a month-long effort to help replenish critically low supplies.
Officer Hall’s motto was, “Gotta go. Time for me to make a difference.”
It’s printed on flyers advertising the blood drive.
Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert donated Wednesday afternoon.
“That’s how Calvin lived and that’s how we wanted to live and we want to do it in his legacy to help save other lives,” said Schubert.
Vitalant blood bank officials say supplies are critically low.
Anybody can donate in Hall’s name throughout August by mentioning Hall or by using a special group code: Z0021100.
To find a location near you, call (412) 209-7000 or visit Vitalant's website.
