PITTSBURGH, PA (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – There are 45 new cases and six additional deaths in Allegheny County due to COVID-19.

The uptick in the number of cases is due to delayed reporting from a new lab and the positive tests are over several days.


There are now 1,439 cases in Allegheny County, either confirmed or probable.

1,375 are confirmed and 64 are probable.

There have also been 254 hospitalizations to date, including past and ongoing stays, seven more than on Wednesday.

There have been 117 deaths related to COVID-19 that are either confirmed or probable, 107 of those are confirmed with 10 probable.

All deaths are in people aged 42-103, with 84 being the median age of those who have died.

According to the PA Department of Health, 18,006 people have tested negative in Allegheny County as of Wednesday.

The age breakdown:

00-04 – 4 (less than 1%)05-12 – 5 (less than 1%)13-18 – 13 (1%)19-24 – 96 (7%)25-49 – 491 (35%)50-64 – 403 (28%)65 + -- 427 (30%)The gender of those with COVID-19 are listed below:Female – 761 (53%)Male – 677 (47%)
