ERIE, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A man in fishing in Lake Erie last week caught a 40 pound fish!
The PA Fish and Boat Commission says that Nick Lohrer of Fairview PA sent them a photo of a Bigmouth Buffalo he caught in Presque Isle Bay.
Lohrer says the fish is 40 inches in length and has a 28 inch girth.
He estimates it is about 40 pounds.
The fish is on the endangered list and the Fish and Boat Commission says Lohrer released the fish back into the water.
They added he caught another one and released it back into the water the same day.
The Bigmouth Buffalo is the largest member of the “sucker fish” family and can live over 110 years.
