PITTSBURGH, PA (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The City of Pittsburgh has started taking preventive measures to reduce chances of COVID-19 spreading.
The G7 Foreign Ministers meeting has been canceled and reset as a teleconference.
City employees are under a ban that prohibits all international travel, and there are also restrictions on domestic air travel, unless otherwise permitted by the Mayor.
The City has also banned meetings of more than 50 people among employees.
There are policies being established to set up work-from-home situations to avoid large groups of people.
The announcements come on the tail of the St. Patrick's Day Parade being canceled earlier on Wednesday.
The measures were taken to protect City employees and decrease chances of any coronavirus spread, as the Department of Public Safety works to make continued preparations.
