PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala, who won a hard fought but double digit victory over independent Lisa Middleman Tuesday indicates he wants to target hate crimes and further use of technology over the next four years.

KDKA-TV political reporter Jon Delano says Zappala's strength against middleman was suburban.

“As the suburbs came in, particularly the further away those suburbs were from the city the grater the margin for Steve Zappala,” Delano told Marty Griffin on KDKA Radio. “Some of those precincts when 75 percent (for Zappala).”

Zappala says technology can better be used in protection from abuse cases.
