PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A first drive-thru center for COVID-19 coronavirus testing has opened in Pittsburgh.
There was a lineup of cars outside Central Outreach Wellness Center on the North Side Monday morning.
The facility normally does testing for sexual transmitted diseases.
Dr. Stacy Lane says they’re received 100 coronavirus test kits and opened mid-morning.
“About half the people we’ve seen here today are uninsured, we’ve been asking that questions along the process,” said Dr. Lane.
Those without insurance don’t have to pay for tests and Dr. Lane adds they will try to figure out how to pay for them later.
They plan on doing more testing on Tuesday.
