(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) On a day filled with tragedy on the roadways, a Rostraver West Newton paramedic died while on duty attending to an accident on I-70.
Matthew Smelser was responding to a multi-vehicle accident on I-70 around 7:00 A.M. Sunday morning.
EMS was on the scene of the crash when a vehicle struck the ambulance killing Smelser.
Lanes were closed on I-70 between exits 49 and 46A.
