PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020) - The 46th Governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Corbett, played a big part in eliminating the license plate registration stickers in 2017.

Now, there is a proposed bill to bring the stickers back; the main reason being that individuals are not registering their vehicles.

"The inspection sticker is the key signal that the car has number one, been inspected, but also it's been registered," Corbett said to KDKA Radio on Friday.

An inspection station cannot take and give an inspection to a car if the customer does not show proof of ownership.

"That's why I always thought that this was kind of redundant," Corbett adds.

The bill would combine auto registration with safety and emissions inspections.
