As a result of "Coronavirus concerns," four local Diocese of Pittsburgh catholic schools will be closed on Friday for sanitation.
The schools include Saint Bede elementary school in Point Breeze, East Catholic in Forest Hills, Saint Therese of Lisieux in Munhall and Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport. Students at Serra Catholic will have online classes during the sanitation.
Several students and adults will be required to remain home for 14 days as a result of potential exposure to someone who may have been exposed to Coronavirus.
All Diocese schools will be closed on Mnday, while teachers will have an in-service day to plan for possbible future closures resulting from the Coronavirus pandemic.
In a release, the Diocese stressed that "no one in any of our Catholic school communities has any known symptoms or has reported any interactions with anyone who has tested positive for the virus" and that the closures are out of an abundance of caution.
