PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced Sunday in a press release that 16 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Pennsylvania, including one more in Allegheny County.
The Allegheny County Health Department said in a release that a fourth case has been confirmed.
This brings the Allegheny County total count to four and the statewide number to 64.
Both of the new Allegheny County cases are both adults in their 60s.
All of the cases are either isolated or at a hospital being treated.
446 patients have been tested across the state, 64 confirmed, 205 tested negative, and 183 are still being processed.
"While we anticipate that there will be more Pennsylvanians with COVID-19 in the coming days and weeks, it is important for residents to know the commonwealth is prepared and to be prepared themselves," Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said. "Right now, you have a higher chance of testing positive for COVID-19 if you have traveled to a country or state with known community outbreaks or have come in contact with someone who has the virus. We are working with the health care community across Pennsylvania to keep them informed, consult on patient testing and ensuring they have the resources they need to care for patients."
