PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Allegheny County Health Department has increased the limit of people permissible at outdoor gatherings.

The limit for outdoor gatherings has been risen to 100 people.

The increased limit is set to take effect at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.

The move to increase the number of people allowed in outdoor gatherings comes from the decrease in Allegheny County's positivity rate.

All other requirements set by the order made on July 17, 2020 remain in effect, those provisions are:

·        Indoor and outdoor seating areas for sit-down, dine-in service at bars, restaurants, and private catered events shall be closed to patrons by 11:00 p.m. Take-out sales continue to be permitted after 11:00 p.m., consistent with applicable Pennsylvania law.

·        The use of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited at all indoor and outdoor dining facilities and indoors at casinos.

·        Events and gatherings other than those in businesses in the retail food services industry are limited to:

Indoor events and gatherings of more than 25 persons are prohibited; and

Outdoor events and gatherings of more than 100 persons are prohibited.

The Allegheny County Health Department will continue to monitor, track, and investigate every case of COVID-19 and is reminding citizens to stay safe.

Additional resources regarding COVID-19 are available at the Health Department's dashboard.
