PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Heavy rains Sunday night and Monday have caused more flood damage around Pittsburgh

LATEST FORECAST

Heavy rains quickly flooded creeks, houses and caused ponding on highways like Route 28 and Interstate 376.

This comes area some areas like Monroeville and Plum received up to 3 inches of water last night and another inch will make things very tricky Monday.

KDKA Radio’s Scott Stiller reported that highways like Route 28 have ponding saying the rain is falling fast than the roads can handle it.

There is some good news, the construction to fix the drainage issues on Rt. 28 appear to be working so far.

AccuWeather's Heather Zehr tells KDKA Radio conditions will be nice though, the rest of the week starting Tuesday.

Clouds give way to some sun, that humidity is nice and low by then,” said Zehr. “Probably the best weather comes Thursday and Friday we still have the sunshine, we still have the low humidity, but highs are back into the low 80.”

Nighttime lows will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s through Thursday.
