PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - It was about two years ago when Ethan Lindenberger started doing research on immunizations.
Lindenberger was not vaccinated because of his mother’s “fear of him getting these immunizations and having a bad reaction.”
He concluded that there was no scientific information proving his mother's concerns, so after turning 18, the Ohio high school senior began getting vaccinated.
Ethan’s story and research led him to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, where he joined a panel of health experts to alert lawmakers about the dangers of vaccine misinformation.
“For certain individuals and organizations that spread this misinformation, they instill fear into the public for their own gain selfishly and do so knowing their information is incorrect,” Lindenberger testified.
Ethan's mom, Jill Wheeler, joined Marty Griffin and Wendy Bell to discuss how she feels about her son getting vaccinated, why she is against vaccines, and and if this is hurting her family:
