PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The generation you were born can help determine your risk of dying from a drug overdose.
The study out of Pitt's School of Public Health finds the drugs epidemic emerged among Baby Boomers, grew younger among Generation X and soared among millennials.
The authors aren't sure why but say attitudes about drug use encouraged at time of adolescence can stay with use for a lifetime.
They studied more than 600,000 drug deaths reported to the Centers for Disease Control from 1979 to 2017.
