PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Three local food establishments have been closed by the Allegheny County Health Department recently for violating COVID-19 safety rules.
“Seven” on 7th Street in Downtown Pittsburgh was closed down on Saturday after an inspection found the establishment operating at over 25 percent capacity for indoor service, customers at the bar, indoor service after 11 p.m. and people drinking alcohol without a meal.
“Crack’d Egg” on Brownsville Road in Brentwood was shut down on Tuesday after inspectors discovered employees and patrons not wearing a mask for face covering.
And “Nerdz/The Garage”, also on Brownsville Road was closed in Carrick on Saturday after inspectors found customers not physically distanced and “lack of clear markings.”
The business was also operating without a valid health permit, had a carbon monoxide hazard, lacked proper licensing and was sponsoring “after hours” gatherings.
Restaurants that have any COVID-19 violations during an inspection by the recently created “COVID Field Response Team” are revisited by the Health Department to find out if any violations were properly addressed.
If protocols are still not being followed, the establishment can be shut down.
The Young Men Republican Club of Allegheny County was the first establishment to be ordered closed by the health department back in mid-July, it was still operating while there was a temporary ban on indoor dining.
According to the health department’s website, the establishment is still closed.
