HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - It looks like Pennsylvania's high school athletics' association, the PIAA may vote Friday to go ahead with fall sports over the objections of the Wolf administration.

Testifying to a State Senate committee on Tuesday, PIAA Executive Director Robert Lombardi says their medical advisory committee recommends playing.


"We certainly cannot guarantee that problems will not arise but we believe that we've developed a reasonably safe environment for competition at the interscholastic level," said Lombardi.

If they do vote Friday to proceed, state Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine says the Wolf administration will not stop them.

"The governor has been very clear about that, there are no plans to do that," said Levine
