PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh mayor Bill Peduto has announced the passing of his mother Eva Maria (Zarroli) Peduto.
"This morning I lost the most inspirational person of my life, my mom, Eva Maria (Zarroli) Peduto," Peduto said on Twitter Wednesday.
The Post-Gazette reports the mayor's mother was 92 and lived in Scott Township.

— bill peduto (@billpeduto) February 6, 2020Peduto, who grew up in Scott Township, is the first mayor in over 100 years to be born outside of the city limits.
Peduto moved to the city when he turned 18.
There are no public events scheduled for Peduto on Thursday.
The mayor's father, Guy Peduto, passed away in 1998.
