HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - COVID-19 rates continue to decline across Pennsylvania, with fewer than 500 new cases reported Tuesday.

The total is now 68,638 cases with 5,152 of them fatal.

PA Department of Health Director Dr. Rachel Levine says there’s more to learn about the novel coronavirus as a new condition has been identified as “Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children.”

“Symptoms of "MIS-C" include persistent fever, often high fever, a rash or change in skin color, swollen lymph nodes, red eyes or conjunctivitis and abdominal pain,” said Dr. Levine.

If guardians see these symptoms, they should call their pediatrician.

The CDC says MIS-C can be serious or even deadly in some cases
