PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The West Mifflin Police Department announced Tuesday that 7-week-old Ambrose Klingensmith has been found safe.
According to a press release, Lewisburg Police Department in Tennessee were able to locate and take into custody Jeannette Funnen, Daemon Klingen and Ambrose without incident.
Both Jeannette and Daemon were taken to a detention facility and Ambrose was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Ambrose will remain in the care of local Child Welfare Authorities in Tennessee until the Allegheny County Office of Children, Youth and Families can take custody of him.
Ambrose has been missing since last Thursday, when his parents, Daemon Klingensmith and Jeannette Funnen, fled with him from UPMC Children's Hospital after doctors noticed signs of abuse on the newborn.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ambrose had "abdominal bruises consistent with finger marks" and the police said the injuries are a "patterned injury" that caused the newborn "substantial pain."
