PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – With the majority of the country on lockdown and the battle of COVID-19 still a safety concern this Easter holiday, Bishop David Zubik is asking people to offer personal, prayerful intentions this Good Friday.
Bishop Zubik wrote out the following three areas of suggested prayers to focus on:
- That we, as the local and national community, may be spared the effects of the virus.
- That those who have already been infected might experience the healing power of Jesus.
- That those who have already died may enjoy the fullness of eternal life and their loved ones may know the consolation of God’s embrace.
“May I ask all of you, faithful of the Church of Pittsburgh, to offer your own personal prayerful intentions on Good Friday towards that end,” Bishop Zubik said. “Since Good Friday is a day when so many spend extra time in prayer, I truly believe that your prayers and mine will go a long way to be a comfort in these challenging days. Thank you for giving this request your careful attention.”
