Boil Water Advisory Issued For Alliquippa, Hopewell Township

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Bottled water will be available today for families in Beaver County affected by a water line break.

The Municipal Water Authority in Aliquippa said that a 16-inch water line experienced a break along Lincoln Street near the Sheffield Terrace tank and booster station on Thursday morning.

The break resulted in a loss in positive water pressue that has since been restored. Repairs to the line have also been completed. 

A boil water advisory is in effect in Aliquippa and Hopwell Township until the Authority sees two consecutive days of positive lab results.

KDKA-TV reports it is for for people living on Upper Broadhead Road, Sheffield Heights and Upper and Lower Sheffield Terrace.  In Hopewell, the advisory applies to homes in Upper Woodlong Park.

Families can pick up the water bottles at the treatment plant on Hopewell Avenue starting at 8 a.m.
