HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Governor Wolf signed an executive order extending the deadline for county election offices to receive mail ballots and absentee ballots until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9th for six PA counties, including Allegheny.

The ballot must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, June 2nd.

The deadline to hand deliver absentee or mail-in ballots continues to be 8 p.m. on June 2nd.

“This is an unprecedented time for Pennsylvania and our nation as we face a major public health crisis and civil unrest during an election,” said Gov. Wolf. “Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy and I want to ensure that voters can cast their ballot and that it is received in time.”

The remaining counties under this order are Dauphin, Delaware, Erie, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.

These six counties are part of a disaster emergency declaration that Gov. Wolf signed on Saturday in response to the civil unrest
