Protesters March Down Streets In East Liberty Monday

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Demonstrations continued Monday in Pittsburgh over the killing of George Floyd by police in Minnesota and others throughout the country.

Peaceful protests were being held in East Liberty:

Pittsburgh Public Safety reports that several hundred people gathered at the intersection of Penn and N. Euclid avenues.

The crowd continued throughout East Liberty.

Earlier Monday concerned clergy and community members gathered in the Hill District, protesting institutional racism.  

Around 5 p.m. on Monday, Brian Bartels, the man accused of starting the violent riots during Saturday’s Justice for George Floyd protest in Pittsburgh, turned himself into police.
