PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) -- Jury selection will begin Monday in the death penalty trail of the man accused of killing New Kensington police officer Brian Shaw in 2017.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Rahmael Sal Holt of Natrona Heights faces first-degree murder and other chargers in the death of Officer Shaw.
Shaw was shot multiple times after a traffic stop resulted in a foot pursuit.
At Wednesday's hearing, the judge rejected the defense's request to remove Holt's previous gun charges from trial evidence, but did bar prosecutors from introducing evidence that Holt had sold drugs prior to Shaw's death.
The trail is set to begin on November 4.
