PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - One person is dead after a shooting that happened outside of a high school football game between Jeannette and Imani Christian on Friday night.
The Westmoreland County Coroner's office reports that 48-year-old Dameian Williams began engaged in a verbal altercation with another individual outside of McKee Stadium.
A firearm was discharged during the altercation, striking Williams.
Williams was taken to Excela Westmoreland Emergency Department where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the shooting occurred at the front gate of McKee Stadium with 3:41 left in regulation.
An assistant coach for Jeanette said that the shooting had nothing to do with the game, but an argument between two men.
The stadium was evacuated without any further incident.
Imani Christian's head football coach, Ronnell Heard, said that Jeanette did a "really good job" of evacuating the stadium safety.
