PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) -The West Mifflin Police department have charged the parents of missing 7-week-old Ambrose Klingensmith.
Daemon Klingensmith, 23, and Jeannette Funnen, 32, both of West Mifflin, have been charged with endangering the welfare of children and intimidation, retaliation or obstruction in child abuse cases, the West Mifflin Police posted on their social media Friday.
Ambrose has been missing since Thursday, when his parents fled with him from UPMC Children's Hospital after doctors noticed signs of abuse on the newborn.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ambrose had "abdominal bruises consistent with finger marks" and the police said the injuries are a "patterned injury" that caused the newborn "substantial pain."
Allegheny County's Office of Children, Youth and Families told the police that Funnen has had two other children removed from her care, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports, and that she has provided a 'false narrative' about her family history in the past.
