
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The victims in the fatal accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Sunday morning have been identified.
Five people were killed and over 60 were injured.
The accident happened in the westbound lanes of the Turnpike near mile marker 86 in Mount Pleasant Township between the Donegal and New Stanton exits around 3:30 a.m.
A tour bus that was traveling from New York to various points in Ohio flipped on its side and was then struck by three tractor-trailers and a passenger vehicle.
The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office released the identities of the victims on Sunday.
58-year-old Shuang Qing Feng of Flushing, New York was the driver of the tour bus.
35-year-old Eileen Zelis Aria of Bronx, New York, and 9-year-old Jaremy Vazquez of Brooklyn, New York, were passengers on the bus.
Two UPS drivers, 48-year-old Dennis L. Kehler of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and 53-year-old Daniel J. Kepner of Lewistown, Pennsylvania, also died.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police and the National Transportation Safety Board.
Autopsies are expected to be completed on Monday by Dr. Cyril H. Wecht and Pathology Associates, after which the cause of death for the victims will be released.
