HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The number of coronavirus cases in Pennsylvania continues to rise.
The PA Department of Health confirmed that as of midnight, April 6, there are 1,470 new cases to bring the state total to 12, 980 in 65 counties.
12 additional people have died bringing the total to 162.
A total of 70,874 people have tested negative for coronavirus.
The age breakdown:
- Nearly 1% are aged 0-4;
- Nearly 1% are aged 5-12;
- 1% are aged 13-18;
- 8% are aged 19-24;
- Nearly 41% are aged 25-49;
- Nearly 29% are aged 50-64; and
- Nearly 20% are aged 65 or older.
A majority of the patients hospitalized are 65 or older and there have been no pediatric deaths to date.
All residents in the commonwealth are currently under a Stay-at-Home.
That order is currently in effect through April 30.
