
HARRISBURG, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Governor Wolf gave his 2019 budget proposal Tuesday afternoon in Harrisburg.
He introduced a plan that will not raise taxes on individuals, but he says it will invest back into Pennsylvania's workforce.
“This plan call on contributions from the business community, labor unions, educators, research institutions, students, parents and adult workers, and it increases opportunity for every Pennsylvanian at every stage of life from birth to retirement.”As he has done every year the governor did once again propose a severance tax on natural gas extraction.
Wolf’s proposal also focused on increasing investment into the Pennsylvania workforce and its education, but he also added, “We cannot comprehensively address our workforce development system without fixing our criminal justice system.
The proposal also includes a funding program for veterans Wolf calls a "G-I Bill for Pennsylvania.
