HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pennsylvania’s Fine Wine and Good Spirits brick and mortar locations remained closed, but on Wednesday it was announce that online sales have resumed.
The PA Liquor Control Board say that a reduced selection of wines and spirits are available to order online.
Customers can purchase up to six bottles per transaction.
“We understand the public wants to have access to wines and spirits during these unprecedented times, but we have a responsibility to mitigate community spread of this virus to every extent possible and make sure our employees and our customers are as safe as they can be,” said Board Chairman Tim Holden. “We believe that re- opening FineWineAndGoodSpirits.com in a controlled manner will allow us to provide access to consumers while also protecting our employees and consumers from unnecessary risk.”
The PLCB says they plan to increase order capacity as fulfillment capacity increases.
Access to the website will be randomized in order to avoid overwhelming the site with high traffic.
“We expect consumer interest and site traffic to exceed what we’ll be able to fulfill, at least initially, so we ask that customers be patient and understand that the PLCB Is doing the best it can under extraordinary circumstances to balance consumer demand and public health,” said Holden.
A look on the Fine Wine and Good Spirits site Wednesday afternoon showed that capacity had been reached and orders have been stopped for the day and will resume Thursday.
Orders will be filled from various locations and best public health practices will be followed at those locations.
Orders must be shipped to a home or non-store address and only one order per address can be fulfilled a day.
You must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol.
