PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Giant Eagle at Parkway Center Mall will close to in-store stoppers tonight at 9 p.m.

The Green Tree location will temporarily be converted to a curbside pick-up fulfillment center.

Next-day pickups and deliveries will begin Sunday, operating from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

The in-store pharmacy and its prescription pick up window will remain open.

“As we’ve been piloting creative solutions to increase our curbside pickup and delivery capacity, we have been very pleased with the results of our recent supermarket to pickup center conversions in our other markets,” said Giant Eagle Spokesperson Jannah Jablonowski. “There continues to be an unprecedented demand for grocery pickup and delivery options, and we are very excited to bring this curbside pickup center model to Pittsburgh to make thousands of additional spots available to our guests each week.”

Shoppers can place their grocery orders through the Giant Eagle app or online.
